Chapter 12

Him

Her lips are slightly parted, her cheeks bright red, her heart beating fast. I'm so aroused that I can't even laugh at her slip of the tongue. I've been rock hard ever since her fingers gently stroked my forehead. I never thought such a simple touch could turn me on, but with Autumn, everything is new and unexpected. She's playing me like an instrument without even knowing. We're connected in some magical way, I'm sure of it.

Having her so close to me is painfully tempting. I could reach out, press her against me, kiss her until the sweet song of our union fills the air. It takes every bit of restraint to sit still and wait for her to make the first move. I'm so tempted to wish her into kissing me. I know she wants to, I can see it in her eyes. Her pupils are dilated as she stares at her hands which are still clutching mine. Her skin is so soft. My hands are calloused from playing the pipe, but hers are unblemished. When I first brought her here, her palms had cracks from gripping the handles of her bike, but I healed those along with all her other injuries.

I lace my fingers with hers. She sucks in a breath, but she doesn't retreat. I sense her arousal. She wants this just as much as I do. Question is, who of us will take the first step? I'm scared I might push her away. She's a beautiful butterfly that needs time to decide whether to sit down on someone's arm or not and until then, she flutters around, presenting her gorgeous wings, hard to catch yet irresistible.

You can lure a butterfly with honey, but what do I have to keep her here? Nothing but my music.

I begin to hum, quiet and gentle, waiting for her reaction. I don't want her to think that I'm putting a spell on her. I'm not. I just want to relax her, both of us. Make it easier to take that step.

The melody is one I've played many times before. It's an old one, so old that I can't remember where I heard it for the first time. Not quite a lullaby; it's too playful for that.

She curls her fingers, embracing mine.

My cock strains against my trousers. This simple touch is almost my undoing. We're just holding hands, but it's so much more than that. She trusts me. I can see it in her eyes. She's no longer scared. She's not creeped out by my magic any longer. She's ready.

I let go of her hands and reach out, pulling her onto my lap. She wraps her legs around my waist, straddling me. Sweet sound of drums. She's so close. Her scent is all I can smell, more enchanting than even my pipe's music.

She cups my face, drawing me closer until our lips are only a breath apart. I stop humming; I can't focus on the melody any longer. All I can think about is her.
